Possible FIX for VALORANT (PC) CRASH/REBOOT Issue & Troubleshooting I did.
This happened to me after the NEW ACT patches when I open VALORANT, it makes my PC screen go BLACK then reboot by itself. Only VALORANT makes my pc reboot, but using other app doesn’t. This is also not OVERHEATING issue since I’m monitoring my temp and my pc parts are still new:
Troubleshooting I tried but didn’t work:
- Reinstall Vanguard (it worked for me before on BSOD/PC FREEZE after closing VAL. This happen to me when there’s new update and the vanguard is conflicting with my windows. But it didn’t work with the “restarting” issue) (❌)
- Repair Valorant ( ❌)
- Reinstall Valorant (not complete install ❌)
- Clean uninstall of my graphics driver using DDU, then reinstall. (❌)
- Updated Windows/Restored to last recovery point (❌)
- Reformatted my PC from windows 11 to Windows 10 (I thought it was fixed since I can play after this. But after a couple of days, the issue still persists. ❌)
- Reseated my PC Components, bought new CMOS Battery, Deep cleaned my system unit, repasted my thermal paste (❌issue still persist.)
- Disabled full screen optimization, Run as administrator, set my Valorant to high priority. (❌)
- Used SFC /SCANNOW (❌)
- Checked EVENT VIEWER to check if there’s a bug/issue (❌)
- Installed Malware Bytes to check for viruses (❌)
✅ After reading so many threads and article and dealing with this issue for weeks, what helped me was DEEP Uninstalling all RIOT and VALORANT files from your computer, use CCLEANER, repairing corrupted registries, disabling anti-virus and allowing Riot Games through firewall Public and Private.
I have attached the screenshot of riot support’s message to the thread I’ve read. Please follow it. I played for hours and my valorant didn’t restarted.
Also include deleting the “vgkbootsys (this is vanguard) and the “392667600.dat” files.
Hope this helps!! Happy halloween! 🦇👻
