flannel over band tee
is a graphic tee really that bad under a flannel? i asked my teenage sister what she thinks and she laughed saying i should only wear a plain shirt under it, but i really don't see what's wrong with this look. i do have a plain black shirt to wear under this, but i prefer wearing my band tee as it looks less formal to me. thoughts?

imo it's fine
at least to me 'flannel over band tee' is one of those fits where not being so matching isn't so much a big deal

band tee + flannel is a pretty classic pairing, don't sweat it.
If it's wrong then I've been wrong for decades wearing this, and will continue to be happily wrong for plenty more

think i got way too focused on the "she's a teen she should be up to date with fashion trends" mindset
been doing it for quite a while as well and no one's said anything about it
What's trendy with teenagers without their own source of income and restricted social circles is probably not the same as what's cool for you in your circles.
And that's not to denigrate teenagers who do tons of cool stuff, just important to remember they have very particular lives sometimes. As does everyone.
