Which sweater should I keep?

I bought my first cashmere sweater from vineyard vines. I wasn't sure which size to get so I ordered 2 sizes (small and medium). I think the small fits me slightly better right now, but if it shrinks at all in the wash then it will be too tight. It already feels a little tight in the arms, but not bad. This has me leaning towards the medium in case there is a little shrinkage in the wash then it will still be okay. I had a wool sweater shrink after washing and now it is too small.
Which size should I keep? For reference I am 5'7" and 155lbs. Left: Small Right: Medium

Tough call. My take is the small fits better "right now". In my experience, shrinking is not very predictable even with the same product from the same brand.

close enough to be down to personal preference i’d say but rights relaxed look is nice i agree with steve entirely, i’d be worried about shrinking

If you're concerned they'll shrink I'd err on the larger side but....it may not happen (or at least not by a meaningful percentage of a whole size)

Thanks! Does the right look too relaxed? I’be hopefully learned my lesson when it comes to washing wool so they don’t shrink

@SandMan953 this struggle is real. Even if you rack dry I’ve had shirts shrink on me. I do like the length on the small, but the shrink issue is real.

Mainly because of the length - I'd go with small. I'm 5' 7" too and it's so hard to get the right sized clothes! It might also stretch over time.

@DreamingDruid dude that’s right. I had a sweater I loved and hung it on a hanger. Totally stretched and deformed. Lesson learned - ha.
