Rog Ally - Going sleep mode changes the TDP to 10w and only way to fix it is rebooting the device.
Any advice on the issue?

can you update the BIOS?
I did that this week
Actually it was you that tipped me on that on the other problem I had (;
so its still broken
I was working fine till this morning. 🤷🏻♂️
If this is the issue where cpu clocks get locked at like 544 mhz after waking up from sleep, then my (bios updated) OG Ally will also do this. I think it does this reliably any time I unplug the charge cable while it is asleep.
OG ally?
oof
Ally X does not
I just tried this again and it seems like I can reproduce it every time when I unplug the charger while it is sleeping. Is there any sort of log that I could capture that might help?
GitLab
scripts/amd_s2idle.py · master · drm / amd · GitLab
amd (amdgpu, amdkfd, radeon) drm project, currently for issues only.
And don't reboot because afterwards you very likely will not be able to reproduce
I also have a command I will send in a bit
your system didnt sleep?
I can run it again after reproducing, sorry I wasn't clear on that
you need to run it before
to make the device sleep
so you can get the logs
Got it, it didn't sleep either of the two times I ran it
did you tell it to?
I did not, so I'll do that now
do I need to try to reproduce the conditions that make it have the issue while it is logging?
When it wakes up it needs to have the issue
For the log to be useful
Got it
I'll try to get that
I'm having trouble getting it to reproduce today. I'll keep an eye out for it to act up again and get a log if it does.
thanks
you need to start the capture before the sleep though
Yeah, I'm just not able to get it to happen at all at the moment
Do you think it could be related to having fast boot on in the bios? That's the only thing I've changed since yesterday
It was on yesterday and off today
maybe
I'll put it back on and see if I get the issue again
That log should be what we were looking for. I had the issue while running the logging script.
this is actually what we are looking for
you were docked?
It was plugged in to charge when it went to sleep and I removed the charge cable during the sleep
That’s the condition that I think causes it when I experience it
It may also depend on how long it sleeps, because when I was unable to reproduce it was only asleep for a short time
For this one I set the sleep time in the logging script to 30 minutes
thanks
