LFG-server clips channel blocking my chances.
Just now found that the LFG-server is allowing me to send Youtube clips?? How do I send ACE-clips that I have uploaded to Youtube then?? 🫤🥺💀

im confused
you say its allwoed but its not allwoed?
Sorry, I missed the word ”not” before the allowing part. 😅
Tried to edit the message now but I don’t seem to be allowed of such either. Testing
ah
as a sidenote, usually you can edit messages :3
so LFG server is blocking youtube links?
Yup
I don’t seem to be allowed of editing the post that started this conversation it seems, can edit all else.
and you only have your clips that you share uploaded to youtube (or have the file size limit or similar)?
Partly thanks to file size limits, the Valorant-clips that I now post are most likely not big enough to have problems with Discord, but I am just very much used uploading every clip that isn’t small enough to Youtube already.
welp apparently they dont allow youtube links  so theres that
And then also because I don’t see why I couldn’t hope to go forward a bit on Youtube, make some fun arguments, make people laugh and eventually feel like I am doing well with the visible amount of views.
they probably allow links like medal or outplayed
you could try that
I have used Medal recently but the problem was both the subscription and then the app constantly having issues with remembering monitor-system on startup. :val_KekwSob:
OutPlayed… Thought that it was a mod-launcher for different games.
I guess that I’ll have to try.
why does medal need to remember a screen? it will capture the games, not the monitors (usually)
also no subscribtion is needed in any way :pepe_think:
Meh, I remember there being something about the subscription that I found to be important.
… Most likely something the recording’s extra features.
I constantly record through screen because partly I use Medal for other things but also the Discord Overlay on fools breaking rules of any server in my presence.
Probably the 10-minutes occasion. Watermarks just seem to me like a method to tell that it’s my recording, whoever might attempt to steal it. 🤣
Well then nope, oh and also!
I tend to play Poker through Google as well, that I know can’t be fixed with game-recording.
well you can just have 20 minute clips without any payment, so idk why you would need any subscribtion
at that point it would probably be much easier to just have obs with a replay buffer (the clip function)
you will have every clip as a raw local file tho, and with a "good" quality even a 20 second clip will be too much for discord (at elast for me, i have 50mb max)
Was always about to respond about OBS just having colours that I don’t like, but first now did I remember that neither OutPlayed or Medal give me permission to somehow make any step on Youtube, the only place where I am allowed to even earn a single dollar if I am lucky. 🤣
obs has colours that you dont like? wdym :pepe_think: the menu?
also with any of the given recording softwares, you will need to edit the clips you made yourself (especially for youtube purposes)
+ side for medal, you have a built in editor there
dont know about outplayed, never used it
obs doesnt have any editor for clips
No worries, my cousin is making clips and instead he wants me to edit them, I have about three/four external video-editing software.
Movavi is the one I remember constantly, was my first one installed.
Sorry, first now did I bother to notice your question.
I don't know why, I record myself playing in Valorant's IceBox-map and when I then save the clip of a nice shot then PAM! The colour-overlay made it all look like the Bind-map.
thats def not normal
If I don't remember wrong, I am a decent fan of Medal mostly thanks to OBS having constant fps-lags as well.
Hm... I have made a computer reset recently though, I guess that I'll try checking OBS out once more.
(Even though it doesn't solve my issue here, I still can't post Youtube links to advertise?? 🤣)
The LFG server isn’t really meant for advertising or showing off clips, but for looking for other users. You can ask “lf people to show my clips to” and then dm people that are interested, or you can post them in #media
Oh there is a clips channel in LFG I just realized
It must be new, that’s my bad then
You have Nitro - why not download the clips as MP4s and upload them as files instead?
Well, the server does have #clips ... Am I the only one who thinks that the channel should disappear then? Not troll anymore? 🤔
Ah
I just said I didn’t realize it existed, it is new
Nevermind, my bad. Looking at my writing I didn't see your comments.
I don’t mod the LFG anymore so new updates I’m not very familiar with
No problem it happens :)
I just feel like showing off videos through Youtube could both help me advertise while still following the channel's purpose.
I don't make any money posting them as MP4 files after all?
Sure one could guess that they would be uploading random videos from Youtube there, skipping the rule of holding to the theme.
But anyone could just record a Youtube-video as an MP4-file as well?
They may not allow YoUtube links to prevent advertising + people posting irrelevant medias or whole VALORANT videos rather than just clips
Cause the purpose of clips isn’t to help people gain following and advertise their channels - it’s to show off some of your gameplay.
Very sorry for the wait. Keyboard disconnected along with myself having to install OBS properly and got a bit stuck on trying Filmora for the first time.
Isn't that basically advertising? I check a new youtuber out but that doesn't mean that I like him immediately? OMG I HAVE TO SUBSCRIBE TO HIM!!
🖖🤣🖖
Hm... Filmora doesn't seem so bad after all, quite quick and easy. Very expensive but I believe that it's starting to make sense. 😎
Showing off your gameplay isn't necessarily advertising.
Then what is advertising?
"Advertising is the act of bringing something to the public's attention, usually a product or service" - Bringing attention to your YouTube channel for the purpose of people to follow it and earn you money is a form of advertising.
Additionally, other reasons we wouldn't allow YouTube posts is to prevent whole Valorant videos and irrelevant content. While you can do this with MP4s too, it's easier and more convenient to do it with a YouTube link
