Shirt-Pant-Shoe Interactiom
Wore the Harvesty Wide pants (https://discord.com/channels/1116793467654381685/1135916565183856660/1295931592232927273 pictured left) today to gauge if they're viable for anything beyond wearing over other pants, and this is what I managed. Because of their long rise and short inseam vs my long pelvis and long legs, intentionally cropped fits felt like the best move (and even then, the pants are fairly low on the hip)
I don't feel great about this, and in part because I think the easy way to resolve those feelings is "wear a normal length pair of pants" and/or "wear no vest" which imo both make this a fundamentally different fit, but I'm prone to malding so I figured I'd throw it to the wolves.
Is this:
- actually good and I should stop wasting people's time,
- not great because of the pants (including their interaction with the shirt or shoes),
- not great because of the vest (including its interaction with the shirt or pants)
- not great because of the pants and vest together or
- not great due to some other factor?

I think the vest is the culprit here
vest turned it country club when u wanted it to be jp casual streetwear
Or some other buzzwords idk
but I agree wsal
With a crop like this you gotta play with proportions to make it work and i think the vest is locking you into a set width on your upper half as well as defining where your waist is when you should be obscuring it
I'd also vouch for a bigger shirt in general
I think if you jumbo sized the shirt and vest, the vest would work
cuz dude that bottom half is prety sick! I actually really love the loafers and (lack of) pant break
I think the vest is the culprit for a different reason. I think the fabric/textile is a little off. My eyes keep wanting it to be knit, or some natural fiber. It reflects light like a tech fabric to me in the photo
I like the proportions a lot, and think that’s part of what is working really well. The pants are exaggerated a little so you wouldn’t want too many other oversized pieces at once lest you look like a cartoon. If you did do a larger shirt, I would lose the vest
lest you look like a cartoonSeems like a win tbh
thanks guys! i took in the vest but didn't cut any fabric so it's not too much effort to get it back to it's (huge) original state
I’d try just big shirt no vest first
Just see how you feel before you undo work
Yeah I guess it depends on what you want in the end haha
yeah i am pro-resembling a cartoon; i do appreciate your feedback though 👍
okay maybe we're cooking with gas without a vest (tw bad lighting)
Oh yes yes yes (digging the pattern on the new vest tho)
I like 3
I don’t think rolling sleeves really works for a lot of oversized fits
Doesn’t show intentionality for the shirt
3 is probably my favorite of the four
1/2 was the shirt from this fit and while it's also huge, it's more impactful tucked in looking back
agree, 3 rules
Personally loving 2
