I haven't seen that one before.
Are you trying to dualboot with Windows? How does your current disk partitioning look like in Disk Management in Windows?
Have you done a checksum on your ISO images (I use 7zip for this) and compared it with the one next to the Bazzite download?
i completely formatted my windows drive in favor of bazzite
there is no windows
i have no clue what you mean by a checksum
let me make a gparted live usb. because i'm not reinstalling windows just to show you my disk layout
this exact same issue happened on fedora workstation 40 too, btw
technically what i named the forum post isn't even my exact issue but whatever.
Next to the download button, there is a checksum button. Use something like 7zip or some other tool to confirm that the checksum in the file matches the sha256 checksum shown next to the download link
why?
oh
google told me
When you in Gparted check that your partition table is GPT and not MBR
ahhh missed this. Then the Fedora installer doesn't like your hardware. Could you provide your hardware spec?

Does your BIOS support booting from file?
how do i
even know
This is very model dependent so I cannot say for sure
May need to search for your model
Something like a one-time boot order setup
It may be possible to just skip the failing step and rely on other boot loaders to chain load the grub in some way
i have a boot order setup in my bios
i can also
select a file and boot from it
within the bios
Try looking for something in the path like
EFI/Fedora/shimx64.efi
well first i need to fail to install it in the first place
so those files even exist
You should be able to choose Yes in the screenshot above and continue
I assume it’s just the final step of setting the default boot order failing, probably your firmware being quirky
i have
but a non-bootable operating system with no other operating systems is completely useless
Try booting from that file
You can set up another bootloader once you are in the system
i'm currently attempting to
okay, it showed the grub menu that listed bazzite!!!!
Once you are in the system and went through the initial setup try
sudo efibootmgr
in the terminal:agony:
something went wrong @Linus Xu i'm too stupid to understand any of this
there was two of the exact same bazzite option in the grub menu though, i'll try the 2nd one
This is no longer a bootloader problem afaik… And totally beyond my understanding
fun!
i'll figure it out somehow.
Someone else may be more experienced with this different issue
I THINK I DID IT!!
yay :D i've set everything up
What was the issue in the end? How did you solve it? That's the first I've seen that error before. Hoping that I can reproduce it
i have no clue
but when it worked i set my disk config as both drives
if that had anything to do w it
