I need to transfer a domain from an other registrar to cloudflare but i am stuck at the very frist step, cloudflare is telling me it is "Unsupported"

Some CC TLDs are not supported by Cloudflare registry, e.g. .it .de .sh etc
it is a .it domain
Yes. Italy, that is not supported.
wtf
CC TLD
thanks, ill transfer it somewhere else
Use another registrar for those domains and point the authoritative nameservers to Cloudflare, that has basically the same effect as registry transfer
hey, i have a similar case. I want to transfer six domains from OVH to CF (UK, IT, FR, ES, PL, NL, BE). I managed to add some of them to the panel and then changed the DNS name servers in OVH to the dedicated that CF provided me.
Now i see "Active" status next to two of them but when trying to transfer them it says "Unsupported" - I do understand that CF does not support these (FR, IT) to transfer, so is it fine to keep them on OVH but have them added to CF panel (with changed DNS)? Does it mean they are secured by CF but still OVH host them?
and last but not least - what other types of zones are not supported?
thank you
You do not need to transfer a domain to Cloudflare to use Cloudflare. It is enough to point the nameservers to Cloudflare (make Cloudflare the authoritative namserver for a domain).
You can continue to use any DNS registrar you like for your domains, it will make no difference.
Thanks @fry69. So i only change these to CF's and it's done? DNS Records change automatically?
You have to setup the actual records (e.g. A/AAAA/TXT) on Cloudflare, but the workflow should have asked for auto-detecting most of them.
Ok, so it's just a matter of changing DNS in my hosting provider panel, right?
Yes, that is all you need to do to use Cloudflare with all features.
Great, thank you
Here are the docs, just in case -> https://developers.cloudflare.com/dns/zone-setups/full-setup/setup/

If you want to use Cloudflare as your primary DNS provider and manage your DNS records on Cloudflare, your domain should be using a full setup.
