Report: Japan's Online Video Industry to Grow to 45% of Total Screen Revenue by 2029
🎥 Japan's online video industry is set to see significant growth! 🌟 The Media Partners Asia report predicts it will account for 45% of total screen revenue by 2029, up from 35% in 2024. This growth is attributed to an annual growth rate of 7%, with streaming platforms like YouTube, Netflix, and Amazon Prime Video leading the charge.
📈 In 2023, the anime industry in Japan reached a monetization value of US$2.5 billion. Anime made up more than 8% of the country's total screen industry, with streaming taking half of the revenue share. Notably, anime dominated 36% of premium video on demand engagement in the first nine months of 2024, and 117 of the top 200 titles on SVOD were anime during this period.
