Need help trying to get mod manager to let me pick a drive to install to.

C:\Program Files\Epic Games\SatisfactoryEarlyAccess\FactoryGame\Mods This is where my mods install. My recommendation is to maybe try changing your game directory in your SMM. (Not entirely sure though)

We need more information to help you. Before launching the game again, open the Mod Manager and use the "Generate debug info" option, then send the zip file produced in #help-using-mods. This ensures that your help request won't get buried and forgotten in other, non-help channels!
If you need to access older log files, see https://docs.ficsit.app/satisfactory-modding/latest/faq.html#Files_Logs
I cannot do that mod manager wont update to latest one keeps crashing so I deleted it and tried to reinstall with the install program, it wont let me pick a hard drive to install to now keeps going to a drive I no longer have in my pc
Hey, not entirely sure, but doesn't it install to the same area as your game folder?
it should, I used to have game on F drive long ago ... I got new hard drive some time ago and that drive now is G drive ... install tries to install to the F drive still
Try this
Failed to uninstall SMM2
Try uninstalling SMM2 from the Windows Settings (Add or remove programs) or Windows Control Panel.
If uninstalling SMM2 from the settings or control panel still doesn't work, install a version of SMM2 (https://github.com/satisfactorymodding/SatisfactoryModManager/releases/tag/v2.9.3) such that there is something valid to uninstall, then try installing SMM3 again
