Learn how to install mods on dedicated servers on the docs website: https://docs.ficsit.app/satisfactory-modding/latest/ForUsers/DedicatedServerSetup.html
Installing Mods on Dedicated Servers :: Satisfactory Modding Docume...
SML3.7.0 enabled the compilation of mods for Dedicated Servers and SMM3 makes it easy to manage mods on a server, be it a local server or ho...
I've already used the website but it didn't work
does the host also have a guide?
no
i dont red german very well so no idea if that sufficient
That guide tells you how to make a server locally
I bought one from host-unlimited
Specifically its for opening the console on a locally hosted server
I only have access to the WebFTP of the server
Thats for savegames
yeah that what i thought from the last page i linked
im not sure sorry nothing there suggests using SMM to install so im wondering if thats even supported
Yeah i dont know either
id open a support case with them and check what is needed and supported, especially check login credentials - then return here for help is tyou need it
Ok im asking the support
After the rate limit issue is solved, the path to input there should use
/
not \
. You can also leave it empty and SMM will show you a file browser to navigate to the server locationDid you find out how to install mods on host-unlimited? When I try to connect I get the error: "failed to check if valid install: failed reading FactoryServer.sh: failed to list path: 451 ENOENT: no such file or directory, lstat 'C:\home\Kunden<some id>\gameserver\FactoryServer.exe'"
The hoster provides FTP over a website and there I can see that the file gameserver\FactoryServer.exe exists.
Show a screenshot of SMM

FactoryServer.sh seems wrong as the server is running on Windows. But using
FactoryServer.exe
as path doesn't fix the issueYou shouldn't include the .exe in the path, no
failed to check if valid install: failed reading FactoryServer.sh: failed to list path: 451 ENOENT: no such file or directory, lstat 'C:\home\Kunden\id\gameserver\FactoryServer'
What if you use
/gameserver
as the path?failed to check if valid install: failed reading FactoryServer.sh: failed to list path: 451 ENOENT: no such file or directory, stat 'C:\home\Kunden\id\gameserver\gameserver\FactoryServer.sh'
The server is returning incorrect error codes, a file not exsiting should not return an error starting with 4 (4 means temporary error, you can retry), it should return 550 for a file not existing
Can you ask their support about this? If they say they can't fix it, I can try to make a build of SMM that handles this incorrect code...
I can write the support. What exactly is supposed to be written in that path field? The folder containing
FactoryServer.exe
?
@Katzenmagnet Did you get help from the support?Yes, the folder that contains FactoryServer.exe, which should be
/gameserver
looking at the screenshots on host-unlimited's FTP wiki pageHey we currently have the same issue right now. Was there a fix until now ?
Have the same issue. Wrote to the support about 2 weeks ago and still no answer. As its prepaid server, I am looking for a better provider. Even copying the mods from a local server to them doesn’t work. SMM just can’t find the game files. FTP works fine and shows all files.
I think the shown path is the problem. Because you only have access to /gameserver - not drive c:
We just did it
But not with the ModManager. We created a self hosted dedicated Server with Steam and then took the Mods and Configs File and put it with FTP into the gameserver/FactoryGame file. Then restarted the Server and viola you can join it with the Server Manager ingame.
can u give the exact paths and files you copied please?
Did you already install a self hostet with the mods you want ?
Also check if every mod is server capable. We had some Train Blueprints that crashed the startup everytime
There u want to enter the Gamefiles of the other Server. We checked which Directories were touched by the ModManager. It was just the Mods and Configs Directoy which you then have to take from a self hostet Server and put these 2 into the Third Party hosted one.

I cant tell the the exact path of the Self hosted Server because i didnt host it
But it should be the same
Thats fine. I just tried to copy the mods folder and that did not work.
Ahh ok. Yea the Configs is essential
but still no way to connect with smm?
Nope
Im gonna go over Paypal Support to report them. We paid for a 32GB Server and they only provide 6GB Servers
This and claiming they are experts, as they were providing servers in only access and so on is a shame....
Oh. Great. An empty world. 🙄. I love it
With the Server Manager you can put in your Saved Game
Ingame Server Manager
And also Blueprints can be put in the Folder where they normally are and with the one Addon of the Server Provider that states "Saving Blueprints to Appdata" they will work
A lot of Try and Error over the last couple Days xD
I just should have chosen the right save…. 🤣.
Bluprints and such are ok
