How can I boot in desktop mode?
Hi! I'm using Bazzite on desktop and after entering a Steam gaming mode the system boots in gaming mode instead of desktop, but I want it to boot in desktop mode first so I don't have to manually enter it each time I boot my pc. I need to "delete" or "disable" the gaming mode, because I don't think that I even need it. Please, help.

You can just rebase to the desktop image. Open your terminal and type
bazzite-rollback-helper rebase bazzite:stable
if you on KDE. bazzite-rollback-helper rebase bazzite-gnome:stable
if you on Gnome6 Replies

if you on GnomeIt worked. Thanks!
Glad it helped. 🙂 Hope you enjoy your time with Bazzite!
keep in mind that the desktop image does not have gamemode
if you want access to both with a login to select which you want, you need to make a custom image where you just remove 2 files and disable 1 service.
Could be nice to be able to toggle game mode auto start.
Something like ‘ujust toggle-gamemode-autostart’
In the week, i love desktop mode, but the weekends I would put it on game mode only.
Also there is game that I’m just able to run nicely using FSR from game mode. (Example for Eldenring where no FSR is available in the game itself)
I guess it is weird to achieve with an immutable systems? 🤔
But be able to rebase on another desktops variant without breaking anything do the job. Wayyy better than nothing. 🙏🏻
Can't toggle it as it breaks the streamos session management
