Domain WHOIS
Hey guys, I heard good things about Cloudflare and wanted to switch from DuckDNS for selfhosting and I would also like to buy the domain for that. Only problem I read about is that sometimes the WHOIS info was leaked after buying a domain via CloudFlare although it is always supposed to be redacted. Should I be worried? I am based in EU and read that in the US it is required to disclose the data (not redact it). Thanks

I assume sometimes error can take place. But, by default, the Registrar does not reveal data. And I've not heard about such data leak. You may have a glance at their official doc for more clarity: https://developers.cloudflare.com/registrar/account-options/whois-redaction/

Cloudflare Registrar provides personal data redaction on WHOIS information, if permitted by the registry.

The thing is that once it's out, it's out. Spam calls, spam emais all the time.
Is there something to do about it just in case? Like using an email alias, fake phone number etc.?
Some TLD do not allow for WHOIS redaction.

Edit: Thanks to the commenters I have learned that .us TLD are not allowed to be redacted. I have learned the hard way. I guess this was the reason it was cheap. It doesn't matter whether you use Cloudflare, or another registrar to register your domain name, - if you're registering

The various ccTLD (country code TLD), such as e.g. .dk
