did you have specific pictures of the kinds of outfits you liked/saw yourself dressing in?
if not check #waywt or #inspiration or online and/or read some of the advice in this post; it'll be easier to give recommendations off the pictures https://discord.com/channels/1116793467654381685/1298465482923573331
Alright
I looked in those
I didnt like anything there
But I like designer hoodies and shirts
With some good cargos or jean shorts
Or just regular jeans
find pictures of what you like and post them here
lemme know your thoughts on these
They look decent
@sinbad tap in
man I got better fits
lemme help u tmrw i just got back from the club
aight
ima post a reference of stuff that I seen that I like
stuff like that
So are you looking for cool hoodies with graphics primarily?
These pictures don't really display an outfit as much as present the hoodie which is why I'm asking
well im looking for tees and hoodies with graphics
also things to wear them with
aswell as good brands for things like that
basically I wanna know about that but also what to wear and how to wear it with
Ok, well you kind of have to reorient your thinking then in that case
Fashion is a game of shapes, and so if you have a graphic hoodie, more important than the graphic is how the hoodie fits on you
Would you prefer it to have an oversized fit on you, something where you kind of swim in it? Or would you like it more fitted to your body?
I like hoodies slightly baggy
since im skinny it would look weird if it was fitted to me
Ok, from there, you take that favourite hoodie you have in mind, and pick a pair of pants that you think would complement the hoodie.
In my mind, a skinny pair of pants would allow the hoodie to drape over ya and look kinda flowy. The next step up, a straight cut, might provide a balanced look in that it also provides your legs room to breathe, matching the slight bagginess of the hoodie. People here also like playing with big, wide pants that make themselves the centerpiece of a very very flowy outfit.
Finding your preference between those three will mean you'll have to find those hoodies and pants in person.
Go to some stores, find your favourites, try them on together if you can, and see what shapes you like on your body
alright and do you have some recommended stores in the US
What city are you in if I may ask? It kinda depends where you are and also the budget you'd be using
new york
@seth he loops
uhh lemme scroll but one sec
Streetwear stores for beginners in NYC
oh he k yeah
honestly, go to kith on broadway and work down, pop into stores that catch your eye
what's your budget?
all the 5th ave department stores will have a ton of stretwear, just pricey af
if you like the graphic design kinda stuff just browse on your explore page. my personal favorite is basketcase gallery
stadium goods has a buncha sneaks
idk if this is good but like 100-200
that's good! it'll be enough for solid basics when it comes to the kinda pants u mentioned
denim, cargos, etc
if you wanna thrift i can recommend 2nd street. buncha locations with a ton of used designer
this might be difficult to find out
but is there anything like those stores in staten island
thats where I am in nyc
for designer streetwear it'll be a bit harder to score in that price range, might wanna wait until sale season
i wouldnt know bc im in manhattan, but take a weekend to ferry over lol
if not online shopping might be the move
yeah
ssense, kith, etc
I have been looking online but I like trying my stuff
also Im prepping for clothes so I might be able to save
yeah word im the same way
i think for now just absorbing inspo is probably best
streetwear is a giant term so what exactly you like would help
brands, aesthetics,
now that I know what I want
I would like help about aesthetics
Respectfully
No, you don't
There's a whole world out there
I think exploring more and trying that stuff on might be useful
It gives you more perspective than what you see online
dude just wants some hoodies and jeans we dont gotta make him into anything more unless he wants to lol
alright
I know, but it's still about learning how things fit
yeah. prowl the stores, try things on, find fits you like… maybe build a core of sorts with things you can also afford?
champion of following my own advice, i know
