What's the domain that you want to use?
jj76.online
You set up an A Record already pointing to the ip?
Yes
It's _minecraft._tcp
oh
Missing an underscore
Try it out and see if it works (after dns propagates)
How long does that usually take
Up to 48 hours. Check a dns propagation site.
Could you send one?
I found one
yeah it just says the A is working
Check the srv
Srv is not working
@David Wang the srv isn't working but people are still able to connect
is that normal?
They connect with just the domain or domain:port?
Just the domain
Also would cloudflare warp work
For hiding my ip
Idk. Playit.gg would
A domain doesn't hide your ip if that's what you're trying to do
If dns propagation doesn't show your srv record propagated, but others can connect using just the domain, then mostliley the srv record propagated to where they are
Connecting with just the domain means that the srv record is working
what about the proxy?
im getting a thing that says this hostname isn't covered by a certificate
is that importent
It wouldn't matter for a minecraft server i don't think
And iirc proxy is supposed to be off
im using the proxy rn
its working just fine
Proxy is turned on? 🤔
Well, if it works... 🤷♂️
A domain which is proxied through Cloudflare kind of does
What about it? A proxy isn't good for a Minecraft server anyways
Then turn it off
Fr
Based on Chaika's guide https://community.cloudflare.com/t/setting-up-minecraft-srv-records-on-cloudflare-connect-via-your-domain-name/636757
It shouldn't be proxied.
I wouldn't be surprised if they gave a dummy domain to use for instruction and examples
yea
if you go to cmd
and ping it
it shows a different ip
Starts with 172 and/or 104?
104
That's cloudflare. It's because proxy is on.
yea
thats good
No
Minecraft Traffic does not support cloudflare proxy at least on the free plan
*simplified answer
wait then how is it working?
That's what I thought.....
