Game often lags randomly
Self explanatory, didnt happen during the public beta and it just keeps getting worse with each release.
There are two kinds of issues, the first one being the one that forces me to restart the game, as randomly the game decides to wait 100 ms per every keypress and mouse action so literally unplayeable until a restart.
And the second one that happens far more often is randomly all my frames drop, despite the GPU and CPU being underused, so the game casually decides to simply enter slideshow mode, sometimes it fixes itself, sometimes i have to restart.

Running Arch with GE Proton, but that has never caused me problems that look alike in any other Unity game so i can only speculate it being BattleBit
maybe this uses up one single core but still how come
@Haruspex yea I had the same issue back with mine, did you fully unlock your deck?
I'm playing on a gaming rig, not a steam deck, been daily driving Arch for years at this point
same issue
mine started yesterday
then it could just be a Linux problem altogether , an since thy haven't really bothered supporting Linux I'm just happy that ot works
The oddest part is that it must be a side effect of either the newer updates or proton, but its the only game where this kind of issue happens so i'm gonna have to think where can i even look
proton 7.3 worked for more maybe 8.0? but I do remember using 7.3 ALOT for things an it still stuttered for like 30secds before going back to normal 45fps for me, also on arch Linux is there a tool that limits fps on screen? or for game like the deck linux? it's one of many features I liked about that thing
I use GE 9.16
gamescope perhaps ? albeit its a bit heavy / intrusive, + most games have both VSYNC and an FPS limiter
i never really used the normal protons, but this kind of issue only started happening recently
i cant even play a full match without the game just starting another one of its seizures
i get the same on windows
Game wakes up and decides to choose violence, maxes out all the damn threads of a 5800X3D
i have the same processor , your on linix right?
Yeah Arch
No game ever does this but BattleBit
The public beta as far as i can remember ran extremly smoothly
is this game designed to run on linix
No but the fact that it was running perfectly before means there was a breaking change, plus if you say it happens on Windows then its not just a Linux issue
+ EAC has a Linux runtime and Proton runs Windows games very well, borderline better than Windows itself
when did you notice this problem
after the previous update?
Very long time ago but I only play once a month for a few days at best
@Haruspex
have you tried doing this.

How to Delete NVIDIA Cache to FIX Game Stutter in Windows
Sometime games can start to micro stutter and clearing the shader cache can help resolve the problem and help boost fps.
