cirque casual fits fit doctor thread

what’s up u guys. I’ve really been enjoying my more dressed up looks recently, and it feels very comfortable for me to put on like a pretty shirt and some black pleated trousers and feel good. Of course something to be said for just wearing ur nice stuff to do normal stuff but sometimes I’m just kicking around or going for a neighborhood walk and want to feel cute and casual. It’s this kinda middle segment of the wardrobe, those real everyday things, that I’m struggling with. I have a lot of rlly classic pieces, fatigues, truckers, GATS, NB etc that I love but sometimes can feel uninspired or a little less me. Anyway I think u all have seen me post and interacted with me enough to have a sense of my taste so kinda just wanted to open up to some insight on some brands or pieces u all thought could be good for me. I’m including some less dressed up fits I liked as a jumping off point

kyn
kyn2w ago
welcome changes would be a beanie, necklace or loafer (brn or blk would do fine)
No description
kyn
kyn2w ago
literally any overshirt/jacket/less plain shoe
No description
circleframes
circleframes2w ago
Necklace with the sweatshirt n workwear-y jacket? Like just a plain chain?
kyn
kyn2w ago
that would work!
circleframes
circleframes2w ago
N I’m so stun locked on finding a loafer that’s too chunky or too #menswear
kyn
kyn2w ago
im realizing i might just hate vans thats not on you but a flannel or even wool shirt would work here too
No description
kyn
kyn2w ago
dont overthink it ull end up like me (wildly impractical chunky loafer that doesnt fit right) (mono) docs or solovairs would do you right if you wanna just send on something cheap
circleframes
circleframes2w ago
Oh I agree I’m not really a plaid guy but just a nice kinda textured wool shirt
kyn
kyn2w ago
basically perfect but you could dress it up a lil w a button down or lightweight midlayer like a cardi?
No description
circleframes
circleframes2w ago
Yeah I’ve got two pairs of mono docs I need to wear more often
No description
kyn
kyn2w ago
the lumber jeans i could die but ya basically any top layer + maybe a chain
No description
kyn
kyn2w ago
actually perfect no notes
No description
kyn
kyn2w ago
but same deal, chain or top layer
circleframes
circleframes2w ago
Okay so like more casual leaning button up shirts or like lightweight cardis
kyn
kyn2w ago
if this is what ur going for uve fuckin sent it here
No description
circleframes
circleframes2w ago
Is main takeaway
kyn
kyn2w ago
this is a really really good level of like - texture - proportions - "some" """color""" - dressy
circleframes
circleframes2w ago
Ya this feels very me! Tbh I get rlly hot though so I find layering tricky
kyn
kyn2w ago
ah hm yeah thats why i love my lil linen work shirt for summer
circleframes
circleframes2w ago
But maybe linens, lighter wool shirts instead of jackets Cotton cardigans
kyn
kyn2w ago
maybe a silly q but do u like have a chore
circleframes
circleframes2w ago
I have the classic French blue joint
kyn
kyn2w ago
or m65 or cpo
circleframes
circleframes2w ago
But I don’t grab for it often because it’s sooo blue
kyn
kyn2w ago
ahhh i have a faded black chore from alex crane, a red cpo (from kapital but thats bc im stupid), a faded blue french workwear thats a lil small and i think that rotation does me well
circleframes
circleframes2w ago
Like it’s cute but it’s so saturated
No description
kyn
kyn2w ago
beautiful i mean you can just like
circleframes
circleframes2w ago
I haven’t quite figured out how to make it work for me
kyn
kyn2w ago
leave it on the roof or something cream fleece pullover, chunky gray sweater, black puffer vest are my workhorses when its layering szn but i also will just put on a half- or long-sleeve button down on top of wtv if it looks passable and send it
circleframes
circleframes2w ago
Yeah I think some textured lightweight knits would do me wonders
kyn
kyn2w ago
ribbed tank? also? or any more rugged brown shoe would take u in a very s0upy direction
circleframes
circleframes2w ago
That can add some interest without like too much bulk or heat
kyn
kyn2w ago
n im sure yk idk if u thrift but like off depop or ebay or wtv u can get ll bean sweaters for like $20
circleframes
circleframes2w ago
I need to try a tank I’ve been scared because b0dy.
kyn
kyn2w ago
just send it you look great
Smiles
Smiles2w ago
Alrigh I agree with kyn on everything and all that but something you can use as an idea (that I tend to default to a lot on lazy fits) is cause I know you got lots of high waisted pants is tuck in a tee
Tarrusin
Tarrusin2w ago
I love these jeans.
Smiles
Smiles2w ago
espicially if you have dress slacks and stuff
circleframes
circleframes2w ago
Suede derby could be cool. Hard in the pnw because rain
Smiles
Smiles2w ago
it just works
oman121
oman1212w ago
I been feeling this with that auralee mohair i bought, its super light so i dont overheat, but the texture makes it very fun
Smiles
Smiles2w ago
chains also rock in tee fits
circleframes
circleframes2w ago
Just like same pants n shoes but like. Tuck in tee?
kyn
kyn2w ago
trying to find some straightforward references for u bb
Smiles
Smiles2w ago
ya i mean you touch on it here but let me full an example of me in a few fits to give an idea
No description
Smiles
Smiles2w ago
maybe thats egotistical but fuck it
circleframes
circleframes2w ago
No I’m opening it up hit me
kyn
kyn2w ago
we need bishop in here to just paint over every fit w a better version
circleframes
circleframes2w ago
Like I said u all know what I rock with by and large Yes!

also jacket over a tucked tank/tee hits super well, cause it obviously gurantees the hems don't line up avoid jacket hem lining up with shirt hem in general is the other lazy fit trick
circleframes
circleframes2w ago
Mmm true ur wearing like pinstripe slacks n loafers on that last one but it doesn’t look precious at all
Smiles
Smiles2w ago
cock post kinda the best example of this tee thing but others are less annoying to do

circleframes
circleframes2w ago
These r all super good though. LIGHTWEIGHT LAYERS
zeometer
zeometer2w ago
not sure of shoes but that plus bigger tucked in sweater feels like an idea
circleframes
circleframes2w ago

circleframes
circleframes2w ago
That all black gsh fit and the red sweater fit bottom middle feel very me
zeometer
zeometer2w ago
fuzzy sweater, big shirt + tucked in graphic tee (or tank if you wanna be saucy)

I’ve got a bit of a tum on me though I think I’d feel uncomfy in a top this tight? I do like the look tho!
kyn
kyn2w ago
turtlenecks/mock necks, hats, chains, more visually interesting shoes, playing w collar silhouettes/unbuttoning, light layers
Smiles
Smiles2w ago
i would bet you wouldn't it doesn't have to be super tight
circleframes
circleframes2w ago
Yeah this is very in my wheelhouse and would probably dress like this every day but I don’t want to have to do this much to feel cute
No description
circleframes
circleframes2w ago
But replace the jacket with a cute sweater n then maybe there it is
Smiles

you got a cardi? a cardi feels like the answer

circleframes
circleframes2w ago
I do but it’s not super dangly
Smiles
Smiles2w ago
unironically one of my favorites in the server and their fits are consistently relatively simple, just perfect
circleframes
circleframes2w ago
Somebody suggested a long braided belt

I think more 'formal' or visually engaging shoes, bags/totes/tied sweaters or jackets in the top block (if not explicitly worn layers), and being willing to be a little more freaky w open jackets/tanks/unbuttoned shirts could open up a lot of avenues for u
Smiles
Smiles2w ago
accessories also add way more to simple fits bags and chains ez

in addition to going bigger or smaller w the top block

cos or ebay lmao there are so many cheap leather bags on ebay it is insane oyea ply does something adjacent to what ur trying to do SO well
circleframes
circleframes2w ago
Agreed! Definitely a little more playful but very much in the same vein
kyn
kyn2w ago
ply soup jawn smiles blo aud seth gsh art rej oman (that one guy who posts a bunch of band tees whose name i cant remember) puma you could probably grab smth from remy maybe epistrophy maybe but more formal ethan maybe wonky maybe damb bishop obviously unimpeachably heckle we have talked ab this (also wrt the tank) i think i am like much bigger than you huge difference in terms of feeling good/comfy in a given fit obv sam obviously also proportions god
Smiles
Smiles2w ago
also just a sweatervest with no undershirt rocks if its weather appropriate (same comfort thing though)
zeometer
zeometer2w ago
i think you might also enjoy just unconventional layering of sweaters or shirts over things
circleframes
circleframes2w ago
This is also obviously like a whole different thing more of a fitness talk but I very much carry all my weight in my midsection like I’ve been at like 5’10 140lbs and still a 31-32 just because it’s all right in my tum ANYWAY
Smiles
Smiles2w ago
im gonna be real i think this is more in your head than anythign

circleframes
circleframes2w ago
Yeah ur wearing the absolute fuck out of these
kyn
kyn2w ago
basically all my weight is also in my tummy/thighs/butt
zeometer
zeometer2w ago
yeah i am also bigger than you and wear tanks no prob
kyn
kyn2w ago
zeo youre so fit shut up i mitigate that in part w high waist + wide leg/thigh pants
circleframes
circleframes2w ago
Although the damb fit above somewhere is a tank that’s not so fitted
kyn
kyn2w ago
o yeah i also have a not fitted comfort colors tank thats fun
zeometer
zeometer2w ago
also deal with loose skin post weight loss so ribbed tanks took some gumption but is worth it
circleframes
circleframes2w ago
Ya this could work as a layering piece for me maybe to dip my toes in

Thanks u guys I’ve been into clothes for so long but have only really been shopping with intention for a little bit longer than I’ve been in the server Kind of daunting building a wardrobe out but it just takes time
kyn
kyn2w ago
it do trying to think what's on my little to-buy list that could also be of value to you i think a big fuckoff deep v/cricket/tennis/golf sweater like recommended above straightforward high waisted pleated khakis/light wash/dark wash jeans white tees that are either bigger or more cropped than what u got tanks ribbed/not ribbed fitted/not fitted slouchy suit or jacket

Hi I think everything you wear is cute And I don’t think tank under unbuttoned short sleeve is ur vibe And I think tank under unbuttoned short sleeve is like very 2023 coded But I do think everything you wear is cute so you can pull anything off
kyn
kyn2w ago
wow I’m banning char if I ever do one of these
sharloy
sharloy2w ago
Please do
circleframes
circleframes2w ago
Yeah I’ve definitely got a kinda bookish side to my style that I like playing into but hard to not cross over into dorkus Khakis for some reason I struggle with but the right tone of brown pant would fix me
sharloy
sharloy2w ago
I actually find it hard to integrate brown with black wardrobes Like I feel like I have two sets of clothing My brown clothes and my black clothes
circleframes
circleframes2w ago
Yeah I think it would look good objectively but it might feel more masc than me or something idk why but I agree with u
kyn
kyn2w ago
Ok nvm the only tank under short sleeve I posted was mine and it was in 2023 char lives another day
sharloy
sharloy2w ago

hecklebuckle
hecklebuckle2w ago
I think to rock a tank under a jacket or even on its own you kinda need need a chain or something else to work within the space that the deep scoop necks open up. Bandana could work too Chain/pendant/necklace/whatever I mean I think it also might be worth trying one less cuff on your pants in some of the above fits. I think just a touch of break reads casual and can help make the whole fit feel more “relaxed” If your cuffs are not sewn in obv

Okay so everyone hit a lot of good stuff, I’ll second that tucked in t shirt is easy mode for simple fits that look more “considered.” The inverse being oversized top in a fun way, I think if you have like one element that’s whacky proportions that you can work with, you can cook up something fun without a lot of effort. I basically either get my high waist joints out and make my top half teeny tiny then add layers as necessary or I get my big tops and go full slouchy mode. I think just keeping your color palettes clean, which you do in all the examples, also keeps you looking put together without having to think too much The other thing I think you would enjoy is some dumber casual slipper type shoes Get some velvet embroidered ones with something silly or some cow print/hair-on cow leather shit Lowkey fit but well done with a playful element seems to be the vibe I like my giant button ups for this too, if I wear them untucked with the cuffs undone I get swallowed which is a vibe, or I can tuck and tighten the cuffs for a really billowy dramatic top half So yeah just do something fun with your proportions without adding too much trouble, keep the colors clean so you don’t have to think too much, and I always lean towards a nicer shoe that is just treated like a sneaker
bishopcorrigan
Fits that are basically just shirt pant shoe
