Windows Reinstallation Crashing

I have a weird issue. I have had Bazzite installed on my living room PC for around 6 mothns now. It's been great. Recently I wanted to play some multiplayer games and tried to swtich back to windows for awhile. When trying to run games in windows my PC would hard shutdown, fans at 100%, no display, and I would have to manually press the power button for it to turn off. Sometimes it would work fine for hours and sometimes it would shutdown after 20min. After days of frustration I switched back to Bazzite and everything seems fine. I know it is more of a windows issue, just wondered if anyone had some ins insight into this. Specs below. AMD 5600x AMD 7900xt Gigabyte Aorus B550i Pro AX Samsung 1TB nvme Windows 11 Pro

Fans at 100% sounds like something overheating. Maybe manually install your graphics card drivers. Sometimes the ones that Microsoft has are a bit outdated. Also have a look in Device Manager and check that everything has a driver

Before I did anything I installed all the drivers I needed manually. I did a BIOS update and installed windows a second time after the first time this happened. Sometime the drivers for the video card would be disabled in device manager when i would restart the PC. The PC would feel pretty hot when it would shut down.

It could be the anticheat software in your multiplayer game messing with your system. I had DRM software for my Midi keyboard giving me blue screens before. What game where you playing?

This is nvidia https://steamcommunity.com/app/2215430/discussions/0/4330852965821655311/ but you might find there is a similar feature in AMD GPU settings that you need to turn off to stop the overheating

Turn OFF Nvidia Reflex. How in many games, Nvidia Reflex heats up the GPUs. On my first gaming session, I went up to 83°C on an RTX3070. On the second session, (by deactivating Nvidia Reflex) I am between 69°c and 73°c. Setup: Desktop RTX3070 - 16GRam NVMe SSD Played on 4K DLSS ON - QUALITY (no Resize) Option, basically set to high/Very high wit...

Looks like the game has a habit of making GPUs heat up

It was doing it in Metaphor Refantazio as well. It would let me play that game for a while though. Ghost of Tsushima would shutdown as soon as it would load into the game.

I'd run https://www.hwinfo.com in the background and check the computer temps of the various components.

I'm thinking it's the drivers because both these games are running fine now in bazzite

Could be drivers or it could be the default settings in Windows for the drivers Bazzite might have more sane defaults

I think I'm just going to stick with bazzite. I've been playing for 2 hours without a hicciup and the gpu is running almost silently I think the drivers on windows are just messed up right now I'm running windows at my desk setup with 7900xtx and it's fine though
