IIRC the deck automatically limits charging to 90% if it detects its been on the charger for a while at 100%
not sure if there is a way to limit it, might exist a decky plugin for it
there are batterylimit.service that uses setting from /etc/default/batterylimit
powertools from decky also can set it but sometimes you need to use bios to reset it
yeah then use the batterylimit service
I enabled the service, but nothing happened
And im not sure if decky plugins would work in desktop mode
wdym by nothing happened?
what do you mean, what do i mean
is this not the command?
sudo systemctl enable batterylimit.service
change enable to start
enable only enable not start unless you add --now
my system crashed and rebooted after that, so i thought it would've started after the reset
🤷♂️
hmm weird
completely unrelated crash
try
systemctl status batterylimit
i was trying to use the steam deck's controls with godot open, and it crashes when i do
there is no error
it says inactive, despite trying to start it
it already ran
it looks like it timed out
shouldn't it be persistent? or does it just run once and stop?
it run once at boot
try discharging your battery below limit
and try charging
ya, i will
will report back with the results
I charged it down to 79
And it charged back up to 82
Limit is 80 by default right?
see /etc/default/batterylimit
oh my bad, its 90 by default
we'll see in 3 minutes
stops charging at 89%
