handwashing silk
hi yall, i have a couple silk pieces that i need to wash. I was just gonna throw them (gently) in a tub with cold water/woolite. it's my first time washing silk, so I was just wondering if there was anything else I should know. Thanks!

might be worth grabbing eucalan delicate if youre worried
e has handwashed a bunch of her silk stuff but really nice stuff gets drycleaned
but i also think i just toss some of my silk stuff in the washer :Shruge:
not in the washer ðŸ˜
they have survived so far
sink washing is fairly easy, though i usually avoid pre-treating unless it's a major stain
ive also tossed silk into the washer - garment bags are amazing for peace of mind
Don’t judge me, but I have a silk Jedi robe and I was recommended by the person who made it to use heritage park silk and wool laundry detergent. I put it on gentle in my washer and let it dry after and it worked totally fine for me.
I’ve since used the detergent and garment bags in washer on gentle and been totally fine, but I don’t wear very silky silk, more matte and silk linen blends.
Why do you need detergent? Are they dirty?
If not, just a quick rinse in cold water pat dry first then flat dry. Do not wring.
