I just got to level 20 but im banned on ranked for 144hours
I just reached level 20 moments ago. However, when i went to play competitive i have a 144hour game ban?? I have never played a game of competitive. I am not banned on any other gamemode. Does anyone know why?

You can get banned from competitive for behavior in unrated
and comp restrictions are much more drastic than unrated^
so small infractions in unrated like afking can really build up a comp restriction
i'm not sure if this is the same thing, but back when i had first started playing in like ep1 act 2, this would happen and it would be fixed when you re-open the game.
might not still be the issue, but it might be worth a shot

comp restrictions are pretty strict
but you can still get comp restrictions from swiftplay and other game modes?
i think how it works is that it multiplies each time yo u afk
even when i wasnt level 20?
so the first time you afked it mightve been an hour comp ban, but hten u did it again and it turn to 10 hrs, etc.

yes to the not being level 20 thing... i think you cna also get restrictions from swiftplay and stuff but for ex. i think ur first afk might not count?

The cooldowns add up even before you can play comp, yes.
