Crash

Nadaam

A few years ago I saw praise on the reddit about their basic cashmere sweater. It’s now $98 but seems like a bargain even if you need to choose at least a size up. Any detractors for this brand?

cheap cashmere as a whole has issues you should know about https://threadreaderapp.com/thread/1597339373900824576.html

IMO merino is better as a fabric anyway. I like wearing my merino sweaters more than my ~$300 cashmere. Plus more options and looks, especially if you like chunkier cable or fisherman knits.
I have a $100 j crew cashmere, and it’s not bad - it’ll last years I’m sure - but it pills fast and idk, feels kinda weird? Like too warm and too cold at the same time?

every single piece of Naadam that I've seen for sale has had a ton of pilling and other characteristics of cheap cashmere if you're going to buy non-vintage or luxury brands, Theory is the only mall brand that has had good cashmere, imo

Might as well just look for vintage scottish cashmere on ebay, you'll pay more but it'll be a close difference and worth it Also, heads up, johnsons of elgin is who Hermes uses for their private label. You can check for them second hand, very high quality and their mainline stuff will be comparable to Hermes label (afrerall, same producer) for a fraction of the price Johnstons of elgin*
