Leather boots
Hey all. Looking for boots similar to these (Thursday and PRL) at a lower price point. Got a budget of between £50 and £100, and am open to used options.
As much as anything, would appreciate search term recommendations.

For that price, brand new stuff will be cemented with cheap corrected/genuine leather. If you look at places like ebay or vestaire collective you'll find tons of goodyear welted service boots in decent condition within your price point. Also consider looking at thursday seconds if you like the look of those. They'll come with minor imperfections but it's usually not anything major from what I've seen.
There's a lot of hate for them (understandable given the annoying marketing) but IMO thursday caps are a good entry level boot for someone who wants to get into gyw footwear. They were my gyw first boots and I've definitely gotten better stuff since but at the price, I found them to be pretty good value.
Stay away from fashion brands like Ralph Lauren though. It'll most likely be ridiculously overpriced with average materials and construction because of the brand name.
I really enjoy thursdays, just out my price range and hesitant to import. Definitely no risk of buying the PRLs, barely got £800 to live on nevermind for boots - the joys of student life. Will look into those used options. Cheers!
Is there any particular search terms you’d recommend?
Just start with "cap toe boots"
Go on Vinted. Thursday, loake, redwing, meermin, barker sometimes even trickers are all available for under £100
Solovair 2nd hand could be a great option too
allen edmonds and some alden might be possible too, though probably need tlc
I've seen some at Jack&Jones at round £75, but I can't say anything about their quality.
Bad, but you won't get anything good for below £100 new
Dr Martens and Clarks probably the lowest price for acceptable leather boots you'll find on the UK market imo. And both of those can be hit or miss (especially Clarks which have some good and some terrible options)
ended up finding a pair of thursday caps for £80
