False ban in Valorant. Riot anti-cheat staff, I need your attention.
I tried to send this message to reddit, but it was automatically deleted, so I’ll leave it here, unchanged. It's just damn incredible how much effort it takes to report a mistake and your innocence.
I apologize for any inaccuracies; I am Russian-speaking, and the translation is through a translator.
Hello, I understand there are a lot of posts like this. Here's the situation: I’ve been playing Counter-Strike for a long time, but with the release of CS2, the situation with cheaters has become unbearable—it’s literally impossible to play Premier. I’m just a typical player who plays games on weekends with friends, having some beers, without any hint of being into esports, just for casual fun.
At first, I was very skeptical about Valorant because I didn’t want to learn the agents’ abilities and just wanted to play in a Counter-Strike style. I found the perfect agent for me, Phoenix, who has two self-healing abilities, and I started to like Valorant more and more because the shooting felt sharp, and I didn’t suspect that I was being killed by cheaters (unlike every game in CS2, where there are somehow a lot of lucky players at lower ranks hitting headshots and knowing exactly where you’re hiding).
In general, I didn’t change my habits and kept playing with beers, but now more in Valorant than CS. My ranks fluctuated; I calibrated at Bronze 2 and played between Iron 3 and Bronze 2 (I started playing while still relatively sober and had good KDA, but after more drinks, I couldn’t shoot as well, though I still had a good time).
Then, on Friday, I got into a game where everyone’s mics were muted, and I couldn’t talk either. Midway through the game, I was kicked with an error saying I had been permanently banned after reports and an automatic gameplay review.

Since I’m not a cheater and actually despise cheaters (that’s literally the reason I switched to Valorant from CS2, where people don’t get banned even with free cheats from the first link in Google), I was confused because I clearly wasn’t using any cheats or scripts. I contacted support, but a bot replied, and a day later, I got a standard copy-paste response saying I used cheat programs, and the ticket was closed.
Of course, I was upset, but not too much—just disappointed that I was unjustly called a cheater. A day later, when I was playing a 1v1 with friends on Fastcup, we were using the GameGuard anti-cheat (which operates at the same kernel level as Valorant’s), and when I launched the game, it told me there was a suspicious application, so I think that’s why I got banned. The program in question is Shadowsocks, which I use to proxy some websites blocked by my ISP (the rest of the traffic goes directly through my regular internet).
Also, I’m not using the standard Shadowsocks, but a fork that allows the use of custom site lists. The official Shadowsocks doesn’t allow this.
So, this is not a plea for help so that I can be unbanned. I don’t really care—I can still play Satisfactory, Elden Ring, Doom Eternal, and other great games (except CS2, which I now only play for the weekly case drop). I didn’t cheat, and I never bought skins, so the account doesn’t have any value for me. This is more of a bug report for the anti-cheat developers because this is clearly a false ban. If there are any developers here, I’m willing to provide any logs from the Riot Repair Tool or any other information needed.
Apparently I'm not allowed to post links, so I'll post this as a screenshot

Developers wont come and talk here I think
My account was suspended 9 months ago and Its still not fixed
The application you linked, does actions that are prohibited when playing Valorant. Because of which your account was suspended for the correct reason. But I have submitted a report about this.
(Thanks <3)
Hmm, okay. The truth is, Shadowsocks doesn’t interfere with the game process at all, it’s just a regular SOCKS5 proxy that only proxies the vk.com website in the browser without affecting any other traffic. Even if we assume that traffic was going through the proxy (which it wasn’t), based on what I’ve seen on Reddit, Valorant doesn’t ban players for using VPN services.
I also remembered that Valorant wouldn’t let me launch Winamp while the game was running (the icon would appear in the tray, but the player itself wouldn’t open). After accidentally launching Winamp, my next game had no option to use my microphone, and all other players were also muted, and then mid-game, I was kicked and banned.
This is just additional information. Either way, I don’t plan to keep playing a game with such a paranoid anti-cheat system that bans me for using a program that doesn’t interfere with the game process and calls me a cheater without any basis. All the best.
