KDE desktop environment crashes and session ends when moving the mouse right as the device locks
Very strange issue I came across yesterday that happened when I moved my mouse while the device was attempting to transition to the lockscreen. The screen showed my desktop for a split second before the screen went blank, only showing the mouse cursor which I could still move around. Upon closing the lid and reopening it (thinking that the lockscreen was just bugged and that putting the device to sleep and waking it would fix it) I was back at the blank screen but with no mouse pointer this time. After a minute of waiting I started trying to switch to a tty to see if the system was still functional, and after a couple seconds I was brought to a tty. All of the ttys were accessible except for tty1 which was just a blinking cursor. Upon signing in through the tty I noticed that I was automatically signed out of the previous session.
I've attached output of rpm-ostree status and a journalctl log of when the issue occured. I think this might be a KDE bug but I'm not entirely sure.
