Looking for a jacket similar to this, or other casual simple jackets for cooler weather. Price under $200.

Would this be considered a field jacket/coat?
I'm sure you could find a secondhand Barbour jacket for under $200
a bedale or beaufort would be close to the one above
What style of jacket would you call that?
I would call it a waxed jacket, I'm not sure of a more specific name for it
possibly a waxed hunting jacket

definitely a hunting jacket , at least in the UK
Vintage might be a good way to get this, a waxed chore coat isn't a super rare type of item
As Soup said, Barbour is a good one
I like Filson a bit more only because the fabric feels thicker
You can also add a wool zip in liner, but the cost of the filson is higher

So I have made a crazy decision to save up for a used Filson Mackinaw Cruiser
Which is obviously way more than $200 but after all of my research I think it’s the best move for me
I'm not helping, but they are super sick
