Building an outfit from the shoes

Picture was quite literally my first "I want to try to stop dressing like a slob" purchase and the first pair of shoes I've owned that has not been black/brown oxfords, cheap winter boots chosen based on their appearance of warmth or things I can play sports in. Impulse buy from Allen Edmonds on steep discount from someone who is rarely impulsive and - until recently - would do anything to avoid buying clothes.
I loved them immediately and still do. I also almost never wear them because I have literally no idea what to wear them with. Seems too casual for my current office wear, which is admittedly mostly comprised of whatever combination of dress shirts/pants was on sale at Macy's on the rare occasions I went (working to update!). Didnt seem to pair well with jeans (too much blue). Looked weird with shorts (I tried). Is this exclusively a "dress down some chinos" shoe? Would love any ideas. Particularly in the business casual/smart casual range, which I imagine is where these would fall anyways. Happy to answer more questions, but wanted to leave it fairly open ended to get ideas. Thanks!

Makes sense. Anything besides chinos you see it working with or not really?

Should work with all sorts of casual pant options in the colors Raisin listed: Cords, fatigues, some double-knee work pants could be cool, etc. What casual pants do you like outside of jeans and chinos?
