mods on dedicated with SMM?
How does one go about telling SMM that i have a server installed on the machine its running on? is this even a thing or is it all manual?

I assume it's another machine, not the one you are playing SF on?
You should be able to see it in the drop down at top left, but you may need to manually add the details with advanced mode...

nah its a dedicated server instance on a dedicated machine, i play from another computer.
advanced mode you say...
You can add it in the Manage Servers menu, choosing Local/Path in the dropdown
But if you can access the server files via (s)ftp or something, you should be using your local SMM to manage the server
That way it ensures the server and client get the same mods, and the same versions of mods
ahh I see I can assign a path in the advanced mode thanks.
you can ensure the clients and servers get the same version by specifying the version to download (and update when things are known to be stable) in my case, same with the actual game.
side note: sftp.. ew gross. RDP & SMB for life lol
Thanks guys.
If your client is on windows, SMB also works
And for specifying the version to download, you'd have to do that for every mod, including dependencies
yeah i do the same for a bunch of other game servers i run, it can get fun sometimes.
I'm used to keeping things stable by micromanaging versions. small solution to long term problems lol.
