Screen not turning off when I'm inactive in Desktop Mode

For some reason my screen is not turning off, even if I set it to 1 minute, it stays on forever. I checked a few things. I installed the OS a few days ago, and this one is the HTPC edition. Latest stable. I tried to investigate this issue but I'm not sure where to look anymore. The screen turns off when I use other devices like my macbook. So the hardware should be fine. It's really frustrating because this PC is always on, and I don't have my macbook always plugged in either. I have to turn off the whole screen manually when I leave the desk for a longer period. Not so convenient 😦
