Trying to install surfshark but I keep getting errors
I'm trying to install surfshark on my legion go but whenever I try to install it I get an error message that says (error: changed directories are not supported yet). I'm following an install guide on surfsharks website for fedora specifically. Just ask and I'll link it. The site wants me to enable something called "snaps" if that could have anything to do with it. I believe the first command (sudo dnf install snapd) is to enable or install snaps. After I enter that command it just runs for like 10 minutes before i get the error message. I'm totally new to linux in general so any help would be greatly appreciated!

it looks like surfshark only support debian system, you could just use their wireguard/openvpn config as that is built in to bazzite
Thats wierd they have a link on how to set it up for fedora https://snapcraft.io/install/surfshark/fedora

sorry meant to send that last message as a reply
you can use snap but i dont think the format are recommended around here
its basically an alternative to flatpak
Sorry I'm literally hours into my linux journey lol could you elaborate on what snap and flatpak are?
forgot to hit reply again lol
flatpak and snap are both containerized format for application, flatpak is the more universally used format and snap are more proprietary created by ubuntu. im not sure the detail but flatpak are more accepted and recommended over snap
think of format like exe and uwp app
you can try the snap but i dont think its worth using for one application only, i would just use the wireguard/openvpn or use vpn that support fedora
So there is no flatpak for it? I was just pretty determined because I just got a 2 year subscription to surfshark a couple of days ago...
there is none, but as i said, you can just use the wireguard/openvpn config
how would i do that?
Solution
use the manual route
after you get the config, if you are using kde you can just import it in the connection manager
not sure how to do that in gnome
awsome i think i've got enough to go off of thanks alot!
seems pretty straight forward honestly
