Static & flashing display via Thunderbolt
My system is a high end HTPC:
- MSI MEG z690i Unify motherboard with dGPU pass through of Thunderbolt
- 96GB DDR5 RAM
- i5 13th gen
- AMD 7900 XTX
It sits on my desk, but I have it wired through the wall such that it feeds into my tv. At my desk, I primarily use macOS, and so I drive 2x Apple Studio monitors (among other stuff) via a single TB4 dock. In windows, this works fine, wherein AMD drivers recognize the monitors as 5K displays running in a tiled configuration. It works fine in the BIOS, and it also works fine on my Mac machines. When Bazzite boots, however, it immediately begins displaying issues: constant tv static flashing across the screen, artifacting, flashing — enough to give some a seizure. This only applies to 5K thunderbolt displays. It does not apply to the HDMI output. It seems to me this may be a driver issue. How would I go about diagnosing that?

Plot thickens: if I set my monitor to a replica of my TV, (4K), no flashing.
Seems like the issue here is with 5K resolution
Ironically it seems Intel fixed this for their iGPUs. https://www.phoronix.com/news/Intel-Gen9-Skylake-Port-Sync

A four year old Intel Linux display driver bug around corruption issues when trying to drive tiled displays (namely 5K+ setups with dual DisplayPort connections) on Intel 'Gen9' graphics hardware for Skylake up until Icelake could soon be marked as resolved.
