Change install location
I installed Satisfactory originally on the E drive in my steam library. SMM couldn't find the install location, so I moved the files to my C drive through steam. Now I am getting an error
failed to get platform: failed to validate installation: did not find game executable in E:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Satisfactory
. How do I point it to the install location on my C drive? Side note, can't post debug files because an error occurs saving the debug files.13 Replies
Have you launched the game through steam since moving it?
Yes, I opened it because I thought I had installed mods (I hadn't yet)

We need more information to help you. Before launching the game again, open the Mod Manager and use the "Generate debug info" option, then send the zip file produced in this channel.
If you need to access older log files, see https://docs.ficsit.app/satisfactory-modding/latest/faq.html#Files_Logs

SMM queries the APIs of the EPIC and Steam game store apps to determine where your game is. If you moved its location after installation manually, your installer client will not know where it is. You will need to reinstall your game through your store client so that it is in a known location. This will not affect your saves.
I used steam to move the location, wouldn't the steam API know its location? it's in the defualt
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Satisfactory
Actually, if you hit manage servers it's there anything odd there?
(in SMM)
