ping problem
Hi, with my new pc, when I play other games online I have a pretty good ping of 15ms but when I play valo, it gravitates around 1000 ping. I play with a usb wifi adapter, but it's only on valorant that I have this problem. I saw that people were reducing their fps to make it work better so I tried but it didn't change anything. Could someone please help me? Here is my speedtest:

Me to the same probleme ...
you found a solution ?
nope...
You should try to connect via cable (if you have this possibility) just to try and see if there is any difference, other than that it might a temporary ISP issue from the provider as well.
my pc is too far away from the internet box tho
i mean not close enough for me to put a cable
hmm so there is no way of connecting it? I suppose you don't want to move the PC
I had an issue with my adapter a few months back and I updated the firmware of my router, which fixed the problem, but since you mention that it's only on Valo
not sure why is acting up
but yeah the cable test is a good thing cuz you can see if it's actually coming from the network
or not
i got the same problem, i'm connected via a cable but nothing changed, still searching for solution
Hey @Raum can you check my poll two itβs kinda important
uhm yeah can you link it somehow
i'm usually on 50 60ms but rn i have 170 200 ms
i'll try to move the pc tomorrow but it'll be a complete mess lmao
grosse force
Itβs like above from this poll
Before moving it try to play the game btw, sometimes stuff like this fixes by itself
rn i have to change the secure boot thing but yea i'll try
merci c bizarre
open cmd and run the command
ipconfig
then show a screenshot of the part that says "default gateway"
and also is the ping constantly at 1k or just spikes?
Valorant is extremely sensitive to latancy while other games are not as sensitive
can you make a thread and ping me in it?:6484peeposalute:
can you make a thread and ping me in it?
Iβm at college right now iβll check later
Its various
Every second it changes but it never goes below 250
Actually i get spikes for stable ping lmao
Some rare times it drops to 30
Very rare times
alrighty
π
bro... even im using cable also issues with ping sudden getting high until end of the match , even unplugged the cable using wifi just okay few mins and then coming back up high ping very unstable , only issues with internet company earth cable inside the sea having problems
you also having problems? can you make a thread and ping me in it π
what region do you play in?
eu
open cmd and do this command:
tracert 162.249.72.0
when its done show me a screenshotso correct me if im wrong but you are using a wifi usb?
or a wifi extender?
usb
tp link ac1300
yeah looks like thats the problem
yeah
can you try using eth?
can't for now
well the issue is between you and your router
my ethernet cable isn't long enough and i don't think i can move the pc
i can try tomorrow
π
most likely its the usb wifi adapter
but from what i saw the ac1300 is like the go to wifi usb
like one of the most popular ones
and i only have a problem with val so idk what's going on
riot doesn't like wifi usbs lmao?
Valorant is extremely sensitive to latency, while other games are not as sensitive.
well you get jitters between you and your router so
oh
is it the same for other tactical fps like cs?
not so sure
i mainly know val
and each game are diffrent when a big ping spike happens
oh okay okay
For example, in Valorant, you might experience teleporting, while in other games, your bullets might not register
it differs then
π
try using eth when you can
what do you recommend to fix the issue?
alr
tomorrow probably
hope i won't have to change my mobo
Ethernet
my mom doesn't want to have a laying cable from the living room to my bedroom lmao
well that's fair lol
even im also using ethernet still same got ping very unstable
can you make a thread and ping me in it π
make a new thread #community-help
new ticket
done
ping me in it
@lyra [ping for reply] do you think itβll work with a wifi extender
yes it will work even worse
eeeeeee it's a gamble
it might work but then randomly just fail horribly
it wont
unless your wifi is like
tbh I'm pretty sure it will be about the same as your current setup
20 meters away or something
:This:
ALRIGHT GUYS
I fixed it
just go for 2.4ghz
to switch to 2.4ghz just go on your adapter settings, advanced, wireless mode and put this one
(left)
π
thats valid
if using modem extender rather using expensive a bit put inside ur house could be better
yea 2.4ghz still stable but speed will be slower than 5ghz
