Florida - Business Casual Apparel
Hi! I live in Florida. I'm a little lost with how best to dress. Office is business casual, but i would like to maintain that in day to day.
Unfortunately, I hate the way linen wrinkles, are there any options, blends, companies i should be looking at?
Currently, I own basically nothing besides dress shoes, one dress shirt, and a tailored wool suit. Most days I'll wear a variation of chinos and a few different polos, but I would like more. Recently purchased a suede workers jacket, unsure where to start really as it's so hot walking to the car or about.

in terms of shirting, lightweight cotton and silk are both options, as are short sleeve polo shirts depending on your particular workplace
Linen, rayon, silk, hemp, tropical wool, fresco are all fabrics that can wear cooler. Linen wool and linen silk blends can avoid some of the creasing issues. Otherwise just buy a steamer or an iron.
Looser cuts to promote airflow. You probably want to stay away from densely woven and/or heavy fabrics.
Is layering pretty much our of the question here? I really like the way blazers, peacoats, bomber jackets, etc look, but i just don't know if it's possible to not be miserable
I did buy a half silk half cotton shirt from Todd Snyder recently. Awaiting delivery to see how i like it
Do we have any recommendations for local styling or essential articles of clothing that'd work?
You can get lightweight jackets but at a certain point it's gonna be horrible - that somewhat depends on you and your temperature sensitivity.
Yeah, kind of what I figured. I pretty much never see anyone wear suits or blazers. Is it really just polos and slacks or dress shirts with sleeves rolled up as the limit here?
If so, do we have any specific suggestions on pants?

Building a wardrobe: Neapolitan tailoring
In recent months a few readers have asked for a breakdown of how I built my wardrobe - my plans, my process and my lessons learned. Doing so across all types of garment and even styles would produce a very long, unwieldy piece, so I thought I would focus on...
In a vacuum on pants, these are really nice and could wear quite cool - but I don't know your budget and what you would normally wear: https://nomanwalksalone.com/products/gurkha-trousers-in-grey-washable-tropical-wool?variant=42057647128740

"Kaptain Sunshine have really perfected the Gurkha trouser, and it is consistently our most popular style for good reason. This pair is made up in crisp lightweight wool - a perfect juxtaposition to the style's utilitarian roots, lending them to be worn in the more caz-tailoring contexts that a lot of us lean into. The
tropical wool or lightweight canvas jackets and pants might be the closest thing to layering
i think spier and mackay has summerweight stuff at retail
Love these.
Frankly, no clue what my budget should be? Not looking for designer, just high quality items. Open to buying used for icon designs or the like. Just want good fabrics and things to last. Price to performance without compromising much on quality
if you're willing to go secondhand polo and brooks brothers have lightweight jackets and suit (silk, flax, linen blends, even seersucker) on ebay
I'm also open to importing clothes from Japan if that makes a difference. I know the USD is strong by comparison and they have a humid climate. Have bought most of my hiking clothes overseas, but outside of Kamakura, haven't tried much dress apparel
Will check out!
in terms of pricing, that depends on how much you're willing to spend. Putthison has filters for suits, shirts, and the like which i updated with difference brands; feel free to adjust the filters to your size, price and desired fabrics (as pancake said) https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?Size%2520Type=Regular&Size=40%7C41&_nkw=%28canali%2C+zegna+milano%2C+cifonelli%2C+partenopea%2C+isaia%2C+kiton%2C+attolini%2C+rubinacci%2C+cucinelli%2C+luciano+barbera%2C+ralph+lauren+purple+label%2C+ring+jacket%2C+sartoria+formosa%2C+brioni%2C+southwick%2C+sid+mashburn%2C+orazio+luciano%2C+caruso%2C+j.+press%2C+j+press%29%29&_sacat=3001&_dcat=3001&Jacket%252FCoat%2520Length=Regular&_sop=10&_svsrch=1

While looking up gurkha trousers on Google, i came across a pair from J Peterman, and frankly I think a lot of their clothes look like they could be a good match. Ever heard of them or their quality? Looks like they've been around since the 80s but can't find much info
generally pretty good heritagish stuff
