Smart Casual for European Business Trip
Heading on a trip to Europe for business and the dress code is considered smart casual. I’ve not heard smart casual before, but I am familiar with business casual. Any suggestions on what would be considered smart casual?

fully acknowledging that "smart casual" is nebulous
the logic i've seen applied is that it's either slightly less formal and/or slightly more minimal in aesthetic than business casual
if you dress in business casual you're probably fine - button down shirts, sweaters and cardigans, chinos or maybe jeans, a blazer or other structured jacket, loafers or boots
Europe is freaking nebulous too.
would you care to expand upon this for its relevance to the topic at hand
1. north vs south: wardrobe will completely change due to climatic reasons
2. Attire perceptions change by places: in paris, zurich - formal is strictly formal - proper suit/tie/shoes being right and of the right colors/fabrics/patterns, in Milan otoh, a lot more flexibility is there. In frankfurt, client team members would wear db suit jacket with jeans and a tie.
in a pinch @zilamonster you can also ask someone in your company what the intended dress code is
otherwise if "smart casual" was explicitly stated then this is probably fine
This is Norway, jackets not required. Will be a bit chilly
