Crown Northampton Sneakers: Too Big or Keep?
Hi there, recently received a pair of Crown Northampton sneakers that look awesome.
However I think they might be a smidge too big for me. Per the suggestion of their representatives, they suggested sizing up a half size on top of what they already suggest as a half size up, resulting in a full size up from my US size, to account for width.
This leaves around an inch of space from the top of my toe, around the end of my thumb in one of the pictures. I've had shoes with this amount of space in the toe box before, but they are dress shoes with narrower toe shape, so it felt less bulky than it does on these. Also worth mentioning that their sole inserts have an arch which lands slightly ahead of my Own arch, which makes sense if the shoes are larger than my natural size.
Are there any issues with this much space, and do they look too big on me? Should I return them and request a size or half size down, maybe with a wider option?

It's impossible to tell if a shoe fits from a picture. Is it comfy walking in them?
Kind of, thankfully since they're laced shoes there's plenty of ability to ensure they stay in place. The inserts definitely don't fit right so I'd need to remove them or find a different pair. The toes feel a bit clunky, like I might trip if I'm not careful
Sounds like you should go a half size down
raisin got it.
if you feel like they look too large tho, it's more to do with the cut of your pants. Tapered pants are going to exaggerate the silhouette more than a straight leg.
Yeah I probably should've picked different pants for picture purposes, but overall the silhouette isn't so bad. I think my biggest concern is the extra toe room, as otherwise they seem to fit fine. When I walk and push up with my toes it feels awkward. You guys are right, I'll consider sizing a half size down instead
