looking for ls button button down

Im looking for a long sleeve button down for layering sweaters or for more semi formal ocasions. i am mainly looking for -good manufacturing process(good labour laws) -good relaxed fit -good quality not super thin -reasonable price -organic cotton if possible i have been looking for a while and nothing really stuck out and I was wondering if anybody owns or knows about a piece that would be a good match

The labor laws concern is admirable, but that's the one that's going to cause you the most difficulty if you aren't willing to go secondhand.

Yeah sadly good labor practices tend to mean quite high prices if you can even confirm how their standards are

industry of all nations, nadaam and maybe snow peak fit all the categories except "under 70 usd" i believe but ia with all the comments, good labor practices (transparent enough to share with the consumer) are hard to come by

Kamakura/JPress/old MiUSA Brooks Brothers maybe.

to clear some things up for good labour practices I usually just go by country ex india has bad labour laws but if the factory in india is fair trade certified its fine. thank you for all the recommendations but im still going through them all

it's good youre thinking about that, but going by country can play into harmful stereotypes since any country including the us and canada can have sweatshops

A lot of Made in the USA and Made in the UK stuff is made with (forced) prison labour that doesn't pay a fair wage, as a limited example. Or see this article about a major hub for "made in the UK" clothing: https://www.ft.com/content/0b26ee5d-4f4f-4d57-a700-ef49038de18c

I looked for a while and this might be what im looking for but theres no just white shirt For labour laws I usually check country of origin and if the country has bad Labour laws unless otherwise stated it probably isn't made ethically. My old meathod was kinda flawed because some countries with fair Labour laws do illegal stuff or exploit prisoners.
oman121
oman1212mo ago
a lot of times country of origin is about as good as you get, after that it can kinda come down to just having to trust that the company you are buying from is good enough to be using decent labor.
raisinpie
raisinpie2mo ago
not trying to be discouraging, youre already doing more than the average person. the issue with this is greenwashing is rampant, so even if a company claims to be ethical you cant just take that for granted. see Everlane, Uniqlo, Madewell

UbleikeOP2mo ago
Your completely right, and your not discouraging me I really only bought velour garments so far. I read a lot into their page and I don't have any concerns with their process I went onto the kamakura website and the firstt time i didnt see that they cover all custom fees I was looking at the vintage ivy shirt and i was wondering if you or anyone owns one so I know how they fit
mattw2
mattw22mo ago
I own two, but I am not shaped like you. Their size chart is accurate in my experience. All Blues Co, one of their stockists also provide accurate measurements.
