Bazzite fresh installation is a mess on Asus ROG laptop
I've just fresh installed Bazzite on an external SSD, and everything is broken, steam doesn't remember my login details, boot is slow and gaming mode doesn't work
I've already tried Steam Fork (HoloISO fork) and it worked out of the box but for some reason my laptop is struggling with this one, website made me install Bazzite-Ally build

its near 2021
and 2021 is the year that dont work
the bazzite-asus image should work though
but you dont get the steam deck experience. It is a solid desktop image
yes the user defo went through the site properly. Just wanted gaming mode I guess. Makes sense. Tried on my end and same image as the user showed
interesting, didn't know that bazzite-ally was still offered.
I just haven't renamed it back yet
Bazzite Ally is correct for an HTPC
It's bazzite-asus-deck
Steam not remembering your login means Steam is crashing
Steam will crash if there's a problem getting into Game Mode
What's your hardware?
dgpu 6800S
It's a Game Mode bug. Laptops with dual AMD graphics cards. Don't get assigned a proper display output in-game scope for some reason.
There's an open issue for it
The OS is working as intended, somehow the ally build makes everything a slog
I've installed Bazzite-asus
Is there an issue link I can follow ?
https://github.com/ValveSoftware/gamescope/issues/1469 drm_info showed eDP-1 (the internal screeen) is disconnected so I'd presume its probably a drm/amd issue if someone wants to report it

Workaround if available: set GPU mode to mux and use export-gpu with your dgpu
