Any recommendations for selvege denim that does *NOT* fade?
I want a dark pair of jeans. I like the texture of selvege denim. However, the pants I'm getting inevitably fade into something that looks way different from when I first purchased it. Any recommendations for selvege, or otherwise high quality, denim that doesn't fade.

The only stuff I'm aware of is the Forever Blue stuff from Naked & Famous, and the super black from Iron Heart
there may be others but I haven't come across them
Denim fades, it's one of its features and I imagine pretty unavoidable for any product that uses indigo dye with textured woven cotton. Best thing to do would be to find a pair you like and when you wash them you should turn them inside out, use woolite dark, and air dry.
Fair point.
I guess the flip side of the question is: if you want a dark wash denim jean, what do you do? Do you just buy a new one every year or so? Ideally, I'd like my clothes to last longer than that.
I buy dark denim because I want to see it fade with wear
The forever blue jeans look really nice.
the jeans will still last longer for me than the time it takes for the indigo to fade, but it depends what you're looking for
What brands do you recommend? I've been getting selvege denim jeans from bonobos, which look nice and have a wide range of sizes, which is helpful for me, but I end up replacing them once every year or two. I think I take pretty good care of them (don't wash super often), air dry, etc.
You actually should be washing your denim pretty often. That's a myth that came from raw denim enthusiasts who were looking for high contrast fades. But when you don't wash your jeans often they get dirt trapped in the fabric which actually wears it out more. I used to barely wash my jeans and I would get crotch blow outs every six to nine months. Now I wash my jeans every 3-4 wears and they last a lot longer
Interesting - I'll have to try that
