Not staying on top
Hi there Using Overlayed on Arch Linux KDE Plasma I've noticed the overlay does not seem to want to stay on top. I tried canary as well and when i click on a game it goes behind it.

It happens pined or unpinned canary and regular app images.
@OverclockX64 you are on arch right? do you have this exp too?
On the work macbook rn I can try to repro later, I haven't been on my Arch setup in a hot min
@Elvish are you using the appimage?

flatpak version will not ignore clicks when being pinned and is usi...
its using kde and your own at the same time appimage version of the header, which looks normal also when pinning it, it will not ignore clicks and go into the background https://github.com/user-att...
My bet is an other issue of tauri.conf not translating to proper window configs on linux
i guess you'd have to use flatpak version
to have that
There are too many on linux :NotLikeThis:
LOL yeah theres a lot of variety
And they dare say 2.0 is stable :KEKW:
but now i dont see that issu

@Elvish im guessing it's just something relating to the WM/DE and Tauri tbh
will need someone who knows their way around to fix methinks
I can switch over real quick
amen brotha 🫡
@Hacksore :NotLikeThis:
that seems right macos uses custom impl
What i meant is its not tauri.conf
So I actually have to use the thinker :smoothbrain:
hahaha
so
its something with kde plasma
on gnome it works just fine
:js: has entered the chat
dunno if that is helpful for you guys
yeah i lack the knowledge to know why but perhaps @OverclockX64 will provide some ideas on how to make it work for KDE
Yeah well it didn't even work in the beginning for me, I had to disable webkit compositing on my system
because of this https://bugs.webkit.org/show_bug.cgi?id=180739
Now it disappears after booting for me
:nut:
it does indeed not stay on top of all the things on KDE
it stays on top of some windows but not all
#KdeMoment
yeahhh
@Hacksore so overlayed disappears after being pinned for a couple seconds lol, if I don't pin it its fine
i should search for KDE issues

maybe not related
I'm on X11
so not related
is @Elvish on wayland or x11
:Hmm:
wayland
so its a kde bug
ugh, Im going to have to go deep into winit territory to get this sorted @Hacksore
you dont have to brotha but if you have the mental battery charged up i owe you next rust conf
Personally im just moving back to gnome
plasma is nice and all but it just has lots of little weirdness like this
Both issues we'll have to go native to fix me thinks, sort of like we did for the window level on macOS
:Wumpus_Scared:
OR, we only officially support gnome and go to bed
:OMEGALUL:
gnome only :KEKW:
well i'd say PRs welcome
:bedgephone:
:bedge:
@Elvish does pin work correctly on gnome?
yup
