Second monitor not working with some refresh rates
Hi,
I got everything but one thing working so far:
I have got two 165hz monitors, the main one connected via DP and the second one via HDMI to my RTX 4070 Super.
Everything works fine with my main monitor using any refresh rate, including adaptive sync. However when setting the second monitor to anything above 120hz it just is as if the monitor doesn’t get a signal. Additionally the main monitor begins turning off and back on repeatedly until the change is reverted.
Any ideas? It works pretty well under Windows.
Thank you very much for your work! :blobcatheart:

That’s the second monitor, anything above 120hz causes the issue
Under Windows it does show different refresh rates though if that could have something to do with it?
I suspect HDMI is your issue
AMD on Linux only supports HDMI 2.0, 2.1 is unavailable due to licensing issues
Solution
Using displayport on both should resolve the issue
Indeed, I checked and it’s a HDMI 2.1 cable. Weird, since 2.0 should also support that Resolution/Refresh rate but with a Displayport cable the problem vanished instantly. Thanks!
(I do have a Nvidia GPU though, not AMD)
