"Enable Steam Input" button is missing?

I disabled steam input on one of my controllers in a non-steam game, iirc when you go back to controller settings after doing this, there's supposed to be a graphic of your controller, text explaining you disabled steam input and a button to re-enable it. For some reason there's nothing for that controller when i go back to said game's controller settings.
