Paris Fashion Week: Spring/Summer 2025 - Topic of the day 10/5/24
What designers had your favorite shows or favorite looks? What motifs or trends do you see coming from these shows? How have certain brands adapted following changes in CD (Dries, Tom Ford, McQueen, etc.)? Is there anything you're inspired to adapt in your own fits?

highlights for me: ysl, sacai, issey, ann d, noir kei nimoya, peter do
ysl cleared
honestly
i have been so so impressed with anthony vacarello in the last two years
it really feels like he figured out what his creative relationship with the brand is and has just been putting out banger after banger after banger
and i was his biggest hater for a long time
Curious to hear you explain what Vacarello’s vision for the brand is as someone who hasn’t been paying attention to runway
He’s trying to be yves jr basically with a little bit of added drama and severity
He wasn’t touching the archives at all for >6 years and then pivots around spring 2024
The recent drop shouldered leather bomber is killing me with how good it is and how expensive it is
Menswear wise he’s really only walked the slouchy dbs (modeled after Yves’s personal style) post-pivot so hoping to see a little range next time around but his womenswear work has been sensational
Slouchy DB and sharper shouldered SB is absolutely what I’m vibing with these days
Slouchy DB fuck hard
And with Yves being the best to ever do it (imo) and having such a huge, genre-defining catalogue in womenswear I really don’t mind if he just wants to throw those sensibilities and like 10% of his ideas/current trends at a wall and come up with something
like this (which he showed in a bunch of different palettes) could have been eighties YSL or YSLRG (probably the latter)
god i need to make a ysl brand thread so i can stop glazing where everyone will see it
glaze into the void
it's not the void as long as you're reading it 🫶
kinda wild there isnt there one already, i never realized
