you would not be critical to the team like smokes or duelests
sova is about getting info about the enemy team
sova is hard af especially with lineups and allat
and still ulting and droning aint the easiest
duelist is fine if youre learning, just be careful about getting flamed in comp (if youy play duelist in comp) as everyone flames duelist
jett has low skill floor and high skill ceiling
any duelist is fine to learn on, but you may want to narrow down your selections (etc, are you a movement, aim, or flash type of guy)
or if you wanted to be little impact (big potential for impact but nobody really cares) you can play sentinels like cypher or deadlock
basically if you bottom frag on sentinel most poeple probablyu wont care like they would if ur duelist
wouldnt recommend starting on smokes, you may not know many of the default smokes (and teammates will flame you if you dont) but u can analyse your teammates/people you watch on like youtubes smokes
and initators arent like hard to play but they are somewhat essential especially on attack so its a big role to fill
i really dont think you should worry about the agent type or agents you play though
play who you think looks cool and go from there
you dont like a character? switch to a new one.
you like a character but want to see more options? keep that one in reserve
but some are harder to play than others, like sova for example
if you were desperate for recommendatiuons here are mine after all of that:
low impact (potential for high impact but itsnt really necessary): sentinels like cypher and deadlock
high impact (typically have highest skill ceiling and somewhat low skill floor): skye, sova, etc (initators) or duelists like jett or reyna
and then just easy characters to learn in general (just cuz of their utility being easier to handle) are reyna, jett, iso, and maybe smokes characters (but understanding default smokes is kind of a must)
those are all personal recommendations btw^ so something may be easier for you, harder for you, or someone might just disagree with some of the points i made

Smokes is probably a very good idea to start learning early (you don't need to ultra hardcore main them) but knowing how to smoke PROPERLY especially in lower ranks, and how to play around smokes, is super useful
