Question and approach both in img Is my method correct ? 1. Leads to exact same answer as book and 2. Leads to a slightly different answer (probably cuz I took log value) Basically I wanna know if my approach is correct cuz K is given for nh3 and in the formula it's K of bases , which in this case I assume is nh4oh???

Yeah I've done the entire derivations and all. Infact I was about to ask u whether it's fine to learn formulas or derive it everytime ( I know I'll probably forget them lol) got my answer now Anyways , why can we use kb of nh3 here ??

cos NH4Cl me NH4+ will hydrolise and form NH4OH the K of this eqn is Kw/Kb :) that is where you get (14-pKb)/2 from in the derivation

same hai. NH3 kb is equivalent to NH4OH Kb cos nh4oh is ammonia dissolved in water
