problems with gzdoom

I'm trying to get on the latest version of GZDoom cause Brutal Doom v22 only supports versions above 4.10 so far only v4.8 works without a problem, but if I try any of the "linux-portable" versions, gzdoom won't start with the error:
./gzdoom: /var/home/zrehirs/Games/ZDL/gzdoom-g4.11.3-linux-portable/libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_ABI_DT_RELR' not found (required by /lib64/libasound.so.2)

not sure how to solve this. On their website, they offer Linux downloads, but those are for debian-based systems (Ubuntu), and if I tried to use BoxBuddy which might work out - my bigger problem is I wouldn't know how to make ZDL (my Doom mod/sourceport manager) work with BoxBuddy (cause I don't know where the gzdoom executable would be, nor if it would run at all) my alternatives are to either compile gzdoom from source or to maybe try to install those requirements, assuming that's possible

at that point you might create a distrobox container and install gzdoom and ZDL there
