fps drops when I see a enemy or start firing
usually my fps is around 110-130 on all maps (its not high but idc its still good) but usually it doesnt really feel like 110 cause it is ALWAYS flunctuating, even in the menu it goes from like 400 fps to 200 fps back up to 350 and then down to 100 for like a few seconds between. And in game the fps is nowhere near my refresh rate and it sucks, it didnt used to be like this and im suspecting its one of these 2 issues
1: Monitor, I had to do a optimization for valorant to even fit it in my resolution (2560x1080 ultra wide) so im wondering if this actually destroyed my performance
2: my mouse or something, I experienced turning off and on raw input buffer and i noticed small changes for both but having it on did something right, until it happened again and I turned it off, and then it got better again so im confused
if anyone has a fix let me know, my pc isnt THAT bad to be dropping to 20-30 when i see a enemy or just random freezes or screen tearing.
Oh and if anyone has tips on my resolution plz help with that aswell, I have to play on 1920x1080 due to valorant not supporting my native resolution. And I had to go from windowed full screen, set my display to 1920x1080, then switch back to 2560x1080 for it to fill my entire screen, however its slightly more zoomed in then usual.
Sorry for long post but I need help, it's a bit of time before i upgrade pc.

I guess the issue is my fps is not consistent at all. And when I see enemies it just gets even less consistent
NO.1 keep raw input buffer on always, no.2 your resolution probably did decrease performance
What are your PC specs
is there anything I can do, I recently changed my monitor and got this one which is obviously 2560x1080 and I didnt know valorant didnt support it, but it seems every resolution i put it on theres black bars on the left and right
If your problem is the FPS drops whenever there are effects on the screen, its most likely your PC's specs are not high enough
yeah Val doesn't let you stretch without third party apps
also this what're ur specs
also hi I see u a lot here
Meow~
Rraaawwwrrr~~
they're not good or bad imo, but please tell me if they're bad
CPU: AMD FX(tm)-6300 Six Core Processor
GPU: AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT
Memory (probably the worst on here): 8 gb
if u need other specs lmk plz
wtf
5700 xt and 8 gb ram ... what
@jidat look at this
whats wrong
5700XT is not bad but for going 300+ at 2k Im not sure
bru im not much of a technical person so idk
8GB is way too low rn
oh i see
If you going for stable 300FPS at 2k resolution I'd say get a 4070 or above
Im not sure tho
well thats the thing i cant even go 2k resolution on val cuz the black bars are horrible so i'll have to manually go stretched res
complicated ass tutorial but wtv
geez
Try upgrading your memory but I doubt it will affect FPS a lot
oki thanks
If you dont wanna upgrade now you can only try lower your graphic settings / close as many backgound apps as possible to ensure stable FPS
You can also see what bottlenecked your system. Check if your GPU hit 100% when the frame rate drops
If it is 100%, its your GPU bottlenecked the FPS, if not most likely its CPU
CPU dont need to hit 100% to bottleneck as most games cant ultilize full power of it
So just check your GPU load to find out whats the bottleneck
might just be sticking to roblox until i upgrade
thanks for the damn realization, cpu is so high when i play val
almost 96% of it with noting else open
Like holy shit
Fuck no
The res u r using needs to be in a ratio that is supported by val to not get the black bars
I think the issue is fps tho
the issue is deadass probably the reolution making the fps shit
cause its filling in 2560x1080
i made it do that
so ill just make it smaller
playing at 2k res is ofc pretty demanding
yea and the fact my cpu and memory is pretty bad for the 2024 standards
i just dont want it to look like im playing tetris just to get my refresh rate in fps
hmm
do you have an ssd
or hdd
wats that
valorant is on my hdd drive
Playing on high FPS in val is more CPU damanding than GPU
Slightly older CPUs gonna encounter CPU bottleneck above 300FPS
Upgrading CPU is thougher, since you most likely need a new motherboard as well
I mean his cpu is pretty good he doesn't rly need an upgrade
the fx 6300 is not "pretty good"
it's literally 12 years old
oh my god really
wait ur right
im stupid
get a new cpu
