Johnstons of Elgin
Looking to buy a Johnstons of Elgin cashmere hat and found it on eBay though the price is 1/4th of what they sell on their site.
I saw the person has sold about 20 of these which raises my suspicion. I was wondering whether Johnstons of Elgin has any fakes or if they are too niche

Probably picked up at an outlet sale and being sold for a small profit.
25% of retail on eBay doesn't sound too egregious to raise flags as being fake for something pretty niche like you say. Agreed they probably just got a load in bulk from somewhere to sell on
You can definitely tell the quality of Johnstons of Elgin, it's perhaps the best cashmere made in the UK, there are some fake cashmere around but definitely none of these brands of "you know, you know"
