Which Field Jacket should I buy?

I'm digging both of these field jackets from S&P, but I'll only be getting one. I prefer the brown gun check, but it's also a pattern I wear with one of my main sport coats. But I'm thinking the speckled primary colors in the donegal wool version might make it more versatile for me. What do you guys think?

Might help if you share a bit more about your style and other outfits. They both look good to me so it’s a lot about taste and style

Fair enough. I'd wear this coat mostly in Fall and Spring, maybe warmer Winter days. My style probably leans Ivy/ business casual/ smart casual. In these seasons I'm likely wearing chinos, indigo jeans, or wool trousers with an OCBD or button up. I'll often have a sport coat or merino sweaters/ cardigan. Will occasionally wear a neck piece. Mix of more flannels and workwear jackets in the Fall. Go to shoes in these seasons are typically chukkas, Oxfords, or derbies. Preference for brown leather. Garmant colors tend to be fairly basic bastard - navy, cream, maroon, olive.

i like both but would go with the donegal wool personally for me the decision wasn't so much versatility but the redundancy of two glen check pieces (i say this as a person who wears tailoring casually and who subs in things like barn coats and such in for blazers regularly, your mileage may vary)

only go left if you have a country estate that you go duck hunting on

I've had a few colorful-speckled Donegal wool pieces and I find i get kinda tired of them tbh. I like the check. If you know you already like the pattern, then consider leaning in.
