Bazzite dual boot with Batocera guide (and some queries)
Hi,
I have installed bazzite-deck-gnome on my htpc today on a new 1TB SSD with the intention of having it dual boot with Batocera.
Step 1 - I copied the 2 x batocera partitions (efi 8GB and data 30GB) from my old SSD across to the new 1TB SSD using gparted and left the rest of the space on the new 1TB SSD as unallocated.
Step 2 - I then installed bazzite and let the installer partition the rest of the unallocated space automatically.
Step 3 - Once bazzite was up and running, I switched to desktop mode, opened a terminal and did "sudo nano /etc/grub.d/50_batocera" and then entered the content of 50_batocera from here https://wiki.batocera.org/dual_boot_ubuntu_batocera.linux#dual_boot_batocera_and_other_linux_distributions
then "sudo chmod +x /etc/grub.d/50_batocera" followed by "ujust reconfigure-grub"
If I press Esc just as the PC begins to boot it unhides the grub menu and I can then select "batocera.linux" from the grub menu and batocera boots and works without issue.
Couple of Queries please
1. How do I permanently unhide the grub menu in bazzite? I have tried "ujust configure-grub unhide" but the grub menu is still hidden. Is there another way I can unhide the grub menu?
2. Will the 50_batocera file that I created in /etc/grub.d still remain after a bazzite update/upgrade?
Thanks in advance for any help and guidance.

You can still use drives with other operating systems on them to host your userdata such as ROMs, BIOS files, saves, etc. Thi...

Found out why the grub menu would not display after unhiding it. I had fastboot enabled in the bios, so I disabled it and the grub menu now displays on every boot as I wanted. Happy days!
I can answer 2) the 50_batocera file that you created should be persisted between upgrades.
